Thunderstorm Fears

Last night we had a very LOUD thunderstorm. We are currently staying with my parents until we are ready to move into our new house. Typically if Ava gets scared, she will come into our room and lay with us, but she never came in so I assumed she was sleeping through the storm. My mom went to check on her last night and as she got ready to close her door (because she thought she was asleep), there was a loud boom from the thunder. Ava squealed with fear under her covers. My mom said "Ava, Gigi is here." Mom said that Ava jumped (literally) into her arms telling my mom that she was "so scared". When my mom embraced her, she noticed she had been sweating profusely. Mom asked Ava if she heard Aubrey crying. Ava replied "No, Aubrey is more brave than I am and so is Mr. Bay. I'm not brave Gigi".
There is something about that statement that makes me so emotional. Isn't it just so innocent and honest, but at the same time sad? My poor baby was just enduring her fear while in bed. To top it off, my mom asked Ava if she prayed to Jesus. Ava replied "I was too scared; I couldn't even pray".

I am definitely getting up to check on both my girls for any future thunderstorms. I don't want them to ever feel afraid or alone. My sweet baby girl.....so thankful my mom rescued her from her fears.

For the record.....

The things that come out of Ava's mouth make me laugh. It amazes me how much language they absorb and how they intepret the world.

After dinner, we were getting some ice cream for dessert. We asked Poppy if he wanted any. He said no and then replied "I'm so full, because no one feed me lunch today." (For the record, he refused lunch)! Ava responded "Poppy, you are a big boy"! It was as if she was saying, "you can feed yourself lunch"!

Afterwards, Ava was helping me wash the dishes. As she daddy gave her his plate, he replied "thank you, Ava".  Her response was "my pleasure daddy"!

As she was finishing the dishes with my mom, my mom asked her to turn off the water as it cost money to leave it on. Ava's response was "Gigi, remember your not the boss. Momma and Daddy are here, so they are the boss". Since  we have been staying with my mom and dad, we keep reminding her that Mommy and Daddy are the boss!

She is such a smart, funny and perceptive little lady!

Good Bye Lonely Pines!

Seven years ago we built our dream home on 71/2 acres we purchased a couple of years before that. We added fencing, a pond, cows, landscaping galore, etc..... We had beautiful murals painted for our girls to welcome them into this world. This was our babies first home! After much prayer, we decided that it was time to sell and move. We have new dreams in store for the Diesch family; ones that we believe are very in line with God's will and desire for our family.

A wonderful family with 3 small kids purchased our home. I have to say, throughout this process, God has been so evident and present. He has taught me so much about his faithfulness and our specific prayers have been answered in some pretty awesome ways! He is truly the great orchestrator!

So today we say goodbye to our home. We have had so many wonderful memories here, but look forward to our future home and the memories we will create in it!

Goodbye Lonely Pines! We will miss you! Here is a picture of the initials that Anthony and I carved into our driveway the day it was poured! I guess this house will always have a little bit of us in it!

Ava's Prayer

"Jesus, please help the bad people who don't want you in their heart. Help them get you in their heart so you can live in there. Amen". This was the independent prayer of Ava Leigh 3 1/2 years old.
