"Avaisms" & Aubrey Moments

I have a couple today:

1) Ava asked me if I could take Aubrey back to the store and get a brother like Alex instead. I explained to her that Aubrey follows her everywhere because she loves her and they will be best friends forever. She decided she wanted to keep her sister.

2) She was getting disciplined by daddy at the dinner table and to try and make a point, daddy slammed down is fist on the table to get her attention. In return, Ava slammed her fist on the table. I ruined it by busting out laughing....I could not contain myself!

3) The refrigerator is officially called the "foodgerator". Makes sense to me!

Aubrey climbed up the two stairs in the playroom and did the monkey climb up my legs today!

Today we painted a birdhouse, went to playgroup and baked cupcakes. I love my days off with my doodlebug and sunshine!

Our "New Addition"

Today we added to our brood! Introducing, Ronix Diesch! He is a black lab, male, 8 weeks old. Anthony and I drove to Tomball to get him as he comes from field champion bloodlines. (Important to Anthony who will duck hunt with him!) We left Ava and Aubrey with Papa, Gigi & Harmony and told Ava that when we come back we had a BIG SURPRISE for her. On the four hour drive home, Ronix laid in my lap the entire time.

I walked in the house before Anthony and got the camera and Ava ready. Anthony walked up with Ronix wrapped in a towel. Ava unwrapped the towel and was very surprised and excited!

I wonder what daddy has for me?

"A doggy....I love him!"

Ronix took to Ava immediately, and thought Aubrey was his toy....he really liked Aubrey's hands and toes!

We took Ronix to "doggy school" the next day for head start training which means they will work on potty training and some basic commands. He will be there for 4 weeks. Luckily it is 5 miles down the road so we can visit him frequently. He seems to have a wonderful disposition and will be well loved by our family and great company to Mr. Bay who has been very lonely since Berkeley went to heaven!

We did have a little sad moment today. Ava was watering the plants to give them a "drink" and she got stung by a wasp. Poor baby girl. This upset her soooo much. She allowed me to put ice on it as I convinced her that I was a good nurse and this was my job (I don't think she quite understands that I am a nurse!). With a little benadryl cream and lots of TLC (and no allergic reaction-thank you Jesus) we got through our first sting. Ronix made it feel better with several puppy breath infused kisses!

Sneak Peek!

Aubrey had her 9 months pictures done and here is a sneak peek! She looked so precious in her petticoat, pearls and flower headband. I don't know how we are going to choose!

"Avaisms"

Ava woke up this morning and came into my bathroom were I was getting ready for work. This was our conversation:

 Ava: Good morning momma!

Me: Good morning Ava. Did you sleep good?

Ava: Yes. I dreamed of Buddy and Berkeley!

Me: Was it a good dream? What were they doing?

Ava: They were in heaven reading books. They love books!

Me: That sounds like fun.

Ava: When I get bigger I am going to have a big booty like you!

What in the world? Where does she get this stuff? It made me laugh so hard. I love that girl!

Swim party

Today we had a swim play date or as Ava called it a "swim party" at Gigi and Papa's house. It is the only way we could be outside in the 104 degree heat. We had so much fun with sweet friends!

9 Month old Aubrey Madeline

Aubrey is 9 months! I can't believe that in 3 months she will be a year old! WOW!
Here is what she was up to during her 8 month of life:

• Eating baby food like a champ and trying out some finger food. She eats everything but peas, green beans and turkey. We will keep trying!
• Holding her own juice cup and drink 4 oz in one sitting!

• Lots of spitting
• Yelling when she wants to "hear" herself talk or wants something particular!

• CRAWLING! By the end of her 8 month she is getting around like a champ. Sometimes she does the one legged crab crawl and other times the traditional crawl. She is into everything and we will have to keep an eye on our little explorer! Here she is checking out the door stop!

• She has 3 1/2 teeth. The top right is out but not all of the way out!
• Walking with assistance. I bet she will be walking by one or very close thereafter!

• We had to lower the crib. She can pull up to standing in her crib! She can also use her bumper as a pillow!

• Loves to giggle at her sister and when we do the "spider" with our hands! She is also very ticklish on her neck! So sweet! Here she is giving sissy a hug.

• Fake coughing......oh I LOVE the fake cough!
• Doing the itsy bitty spider and "singing" it! So cute!



• Bringing so much sunshine to our little family!!!! Don't you wish we could all wake up this happy!

Zing, Zang, Zoom!

We had our very first family trip to the circus! We went to Ringling Brothers "Zing, Zang, Zoom!" Ava had so much fun with all of her sweet friends! She told us the tigers were her favorite! My favorite part was watching Ava dance during the circus acts. She was right on beat and would bow at the end of her routine! I think she thought she was a part of the act. So funny! Aubrey had some sweet one-on-one time with Papa & Gigi!
