New Years Eve 2012

I get an F for my lack of blogging last year. Time just got away from me. Anthony surprised me with an iPad for Christmas so I plan I'm getting back on track. I took notes of some of my favorite things that I intended on blogging about in 2012. Her is a synopsis:

Ava in review 2012
1) addressed me one day as the following "Excuse me pretty lady"!!
2) frequently says the word important...."it's important to me" or "I want to tell you something Important"
3) said Advertisement and Responsibility in correct context at 4
4) asked me if Vagina was Spanish for "Privacy"...seriously made me laugh out loud!
5) Says "sumpin" for something,
6) Naunie fell this year and she got double black eyes. One day I woke up and she told me that my eyes look like Naunie.....my mascara had run!!!!
7) when she says I Love You, she says I Love You too much ..... Melts my heart!!!
8) told me that a stroke was like a beaver building a damn in your brain and that blood gets to one side of the brain but not the other side! Floored me my lil Dougie Houser!!!!
9) Ava learned how to swim
10) lost her 1st tooth-going rate was $2.00!


Aubrey in review 2012
1) says "W" sounds for he "L" sounds. I wanna sit in your "wap"; I "wove" you....
2) liked to say "I don't wan it"
2) Tomorrow is "Totorrow"
3) Use to say "Hold you" when she wanted someone to hold her......she now says it correctly. :-(
4) Colored on our leather office chair, wood desk, new computer and drywall with PERMANENT marker!
5) would pungoo and laugh!
6) tore up many books in her bed
7) says "who body" when asking who did something
8) ask me "what it say?" when she sees the Curious George Titles on TV
9) said "Bless You Daddy" this year after Daddy sneezed.....it was precious the first time she said it
10) loves to hear me sing "You Are My Sunshine" and dad sing "Adele Vice"
11) Aubrey learned how to swim

Anthony ran his 1st half and full marathon! I left Baylor after 13 years and accepted a new job at Presby Rockwall - 15 mins from home!!!! We celebrated 11 years of marriage and took our first family vacation (separate post about that to come)!!!

We had plans to go to Jill and Cam's New Years Eve party, but as we learned very early on in parenthood, kids change your plans. On our way to Poppy and GigI's house, Aubrey had her first ever vomiting episode. Poor baby girl! So I spent New Years Eve with a cute date!! Ava partied with Poppy and Gigi!!! Here we are bringing in the New Year at 10:00!!! Here's to blogging in 2013 with some occasional back logging of 2012!!! Blessed beyond measure!

Dallas Blooms!

It was stunningly gorgeous today. I cannot believe it is March with a high of 78! Perfect day for Dallas Blooms! We went with Gigi and Chess (who was in town from Minnesota)! We admired the flowers, feed the fish, did some face painting and petted the animals. After a nap we went for ice cream!
Perfect day! So thankful for a husband who works so hard so I can spend some quality time with the girls.

Conversation with Ava today:
"I don't like princesses except for Rapunzel and Belle. They are too happy, too much in love and excitable...they need to calm down. All of my friends like princesses but I really don't."

Too much in love! I love her!

3 D Movie

 Ava and I had a mommy and me date at Beauty and the Beast! This was the first 3 D movie for both of us. You can tell I am a beginner because I gave Ava the adult glasses while I wore the kid ones. I didn't even notice until I saw the photos. Ava loved it and kept her glasses on the entire time!

Avaisms

Ava told me  the following today when talking about getting her ears pierced:
"I don't want to get my ears pierced until I am older and feel no pain. I also want to wait until Aubrey is bigger so she won't pull on my earrings and it will hurt."

I love how her mind works!! The wheels are always turning!!!

Happy Heart Day!

When you are small, it is the little things that count. For Valentines, I really tried to think of what Ava and Aubrey would love. I purchased some cute Valentine's place mats, plates, bowls and cups at Target. Ava was going to school on Valentines, so I set everything out the night before. We also purchased a frame for Ava to put a picture of Bay in and put in her room. She talks about how much she misses him all of the time. I surprised them with heart shaped french toast and chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate milk to drink! They each got one candy (M&Ms) and we got them Lady and the tramp. Ava had seen the previews on TV and thought it was hilarious that the two dogs were sharing spaghetti! Of course, each of the girl got a new book!

When Ava woke up she was so excited! We made homemade Valentines for all of her classmates and she decorated her Valentine's mailbox! She told me "thank you momma for making my Valentines so special. You are such a good momma!" I love that these simple gestures mean so much to her!!!

I think Aubrey's favorite part was the M&M's. We don't keep candy in the house so that was a treat! Harmony came over with some special Valentines, too. She made candy bouquets for the girls complete with balloons! She also made the girls Valentine's necklaces, bracelets and bought them light up heart rings which both girls have been wearing!

Gigi and I surprised Ava at her Valentines school party. Then Gigi stopped by to give the girls their gifts. Aubrey got a fun Sesame street toy and Ava got the new My Little Pony train.

Momma got a special treat as well....tickets to the Cirque Du Soleil show!!! I have always wanted to go and can't w!ait until our date in March!!! I made Anthony his favorite steak dinner with green beans and cupcakes!

I know Valentine's is a man made holiday, but I love to have the opportunity to do something special for the ones I love!















Prayer time!

Ava's prayer tonight (who has been sick w stomach virus)...thank you for making my momma a nurse, who made me feel so good and comfortable. If she wasn't a nurse, I'd be sick forever. Thank you for making my momma a nurse, my daddy a treeman and my sister my best friend. Amen

PRICELESS!!! I love the treeman part! :-)

Swimmer Girl

Ava has officially started swim lessons! Anthony and I had decided that after the first of the year, we would enroll her in swimming lessons. Since we have a pool, we water safety is of the utmost importance. I cannot express how proud we are of this little lady. She loves the water, but has always been fearful of submergence. Our verse for swim lessons is "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

She has really hid this verse in her heart and has made great strides! No tears, constantly pushing fears each time! She is now putting her face in the water and working on blowing out. She thought we could breathe in the water, so we are focusing on blowing out. Funny girl! Aubrey will join her sister in March after her ear surgery.

Fall Festival 2011

We attended the fall festival this year! Our little Rainbow Dash and Hook 'Em Horns Cheerleader had a blast!

I Gotta Wear Shades

Aubrey has been asking for sunglasses for a while. In the car she will often say "it bright, sunglasses....mommy's sunglasses." After receiving 2 painful shots for her ears, we went to Target for some retail therapy. Purple sunglasses with bling were perfect to make the boo boo ouee better. She has been wearing them nonstop and even when indoors, she has refused to take them off. This particular morning, we went to church with them on and she wore them throughout her Sunday school class! We picked Ava up some pink ones! A girl has got to have her accessories!

Look who's 35

Oh yes, Anthony has joined the mid 30's. We had a low key celebration this year. Anthony went duck hunting in the morning, we took a nap, went to a movie and then to dinner. The girls got him some slippers that Ronix famously destroyed during one of his "outings".

Happy birthday to the most wonderful husband, loving and engaged father and best friend I have ever had!

I love this....Ava is all eyes on daddy while Aubrey is all eyes on cake!
